Eyelid Surgery at Rodeo Surgical Art
Our Beverly Hills facial surgeon offers Blepharoplasty (otherwise known as eyelid surgery or eye lift) for patients in and around Hollywood, Santa Monica and Los Angeles, California. Eyelid surgery is the facial cosmetic procedure for removing excess fat from the upper and lower eyelids. This fat can cause puffiness (puffy eyes), asymmetry, uneven skin tone and dark shadows/circles under the eyes. Above the eyes it can cause a dropping and hanging of the eyelid tissue, which can create a tired eyes and unhappy appearance. We simply remove the fat surgically and tighten the skin, which instantly gives a more youthful appearance.
Will the results of Eyelid Surgery be permanent?
While eye lift surgery won’t stop the aging process the results are very long lasting. Upper eyelid surgery can last anywhere form five to seven years and for some an entire lifetime. Lower eyelid surgery rarely needs to be done more than once. A forehead lift is also an alternative if blepharoplasty is not enough to tighten excess skin.

How is Blepharoplasty Performed?
Upper blepharoplasty can be done under local anesthesia, lower however cannot. Surgery on all four lids can be performed simultaneously or by themselves. The surgery takes about two hours if both upper and lower eyelids are done together. For the upper lids a small incision will be made following the natural contour of the eyelid. The skin will be separated from the underlying tissue and the excess fat, skin and muscle will be removed. The lower eyelids can be done with an incision inside the eyelid. There will be no incision visible after surgery with this technique. After eyelid surgery there will be stiches in both lids that will remain for up to a week. It will take one to two weeks for bruising and swelling to go down and for the eyelids to return to their natural shape. Not interested in surgery at this time?
